Kida Nedakh never gets enough love from Princess fans. So, let's show the princess some love!
As all Disney fans are no doubt aware, Kida Nedakh of 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire' is a the daughter of the King Kashekim Nedakh, King of Atlantis, and later becomes Queen, and the assumed wife of Milo. Despite being born a princess, Kida is not marketed as a Disney Princess due to her film's poor box office results - poor girl! She really doesn't fit the princess 'look' in any event. She would be the only princess with face paint! How would that go over! As an adult, she is voiced by Cree Summer, while Natalie Strom voices her as a child.
Kida is a bit confused at times:
“Cookies are sweet, but yours is not. Sweet is kindly, but that is not his name. Audrey is sweet, but she is not your doctor. And the little digging animal called Mole.... he is your pet?”
Kida and Milo eventually get married. In one of the films, Kida, as Queen of Atlantis, works with Milo, who is now her husband, to use the Heart of Atlantis to rebuild the civilization. They are unexpectedly visited by their comrades from the first film - imagine that! They learn that a creature called the Kraken, which is presumed to be an Atlantean defense mechanism, is attacking a town. Kida and the others travel and are able to stop the creature. Go Atlanteans!
Kida just gets no respect at all. She only appeared in Disneyland and Walt Disney World briefly when the film was first released, dressed in her queen robes from the end of the film. There is some feeling that this was because Kida's main outfit in "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" is very skimpy and might not be age-appropriate for some of the parks' younger visitors: their parents visiting the parks might not be particularly thrilled at a bikini-clad young lady running around. Kida and Milo did appear in the Disney Stars and Motorcars parade in a car designed after a Ketak (an Atlantean vehicle) for the first two years of the parade's run, but that ended. After a long 12-year absence from the parks, Kida and the other Atlantis characters finally reappeared at the Discoveryland section of Disneyland Paris. They have not appeared in Walt Disney World just yet, however.
So, it is time to show Kida some love! She's more of a princess than some of those girls! We want more Kida!
